Louis McBride

   Louis was born on February 3, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He moved to California in 1956. He spent eighteen years in Aerospace, then eleven years in oil and mining. He then went back to work in Aerospace for another eight years. He worked for Rocketdyne and TRW, where he worked on the rocket engines for the Apollo Space Program, including the Lunar Excursion Module Descent Engine.

   He retired in 1992. He's been attending the lapidary and intarsia classes at Leisure World for three years where he created his translucent commesso (intarsia) "Blarney".
