Lapidary & Mineral Club
was born in Flushing, N.Y., on April 29, 1900. He began his interest in
rocks in 1957 as a member of the Arlington Gem & Mineral Club in Arlington,
Texas. He was a tool inspector with Chance Vought Aircraft. Julius was a
perfectionist. It had to be done right or not at all. He began producing
intarsias in the early 1960's, one of America's pioneers in that field.
His biggest regret was that he could not enter the American Federation of
Mineralogical Society shows, since at that time there was no category for
his type of work. Julius passed away on November 2, 1970.
