Juan Soliz

His grandfather who made wood intarsias inspired Juan Soliz. He began his career, however, as a gourmet chef specializing in French cooking. For six years he studied under Fred Hays of Santa Barbara, California to learn jewelry making and stone inlay. Although of Kiowa heritage, he rarely uses Native American designs but rather his own designs from nature, producing beautifully stylized birds, bees, trees, plants, reptiles, fish and the wild animals of the jungles.
