born on September 24, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was graduated from
High School and attended Kansas City Junior College. In 1946, she moved
to California and began work as an Administrative Secretary for US Steel
and remained there for 34 years.

became interested in rocks in 1960 and joined the San Francisco Gem &
Mineral Society in 1962. As a member, she chaired many committees and held
most offices including curator, Vice-president, and President. Cecilia started
creating commessi (intarsias) in 1985.
1995, she moved to Salem, Oregon and joined the Lapidary Club at the Senior
Center. In 1999, she moved to Capital Manor, a retirement community in Salem.
She was elected President of her Lapidary Club in 2000.
